Management Principles - MGT 302

Management Principles was primarily about how to be an effective manager on both a large and small scale. This course covered some materials taught in my Communication Skills in Management course, specifically in that a core aspect of positive and skillful management lies in proper communication. This course also introduced us to the idea that leaders and managers are not mutually exclusive roles, and while a manager can function without being a leader, it is beneficial to the position to be the motivating, inspirational factor in a workplace. Earned respect is key to managing a team with group and individual stability. My management experience as a front-end supervisor allowed me a very interesting perspective that gave me the opportunity to dissect and reflect upon my own experiences as a manager. This course helped me to directly and immediately improve my skills as a manager.
