My only experience with ethics as a
subject of study was in my introductory philosophy course. Business
Ethics was the perfect followup to the subject by taking the broad
topic of ethics as a whole and focusing it specifically on how
business and marketing are conducted. My major takeaway from this
course is that ethics rarely deal in issues of simple rights and
wrongs, and while one might have a specific affinity toward one
stance, specifically if it aligns with strong personal morals, that
doesn't necessarily mean that it is right or even the best option.
Business Ethics opened my eyes to a part of business that I have
always been aware of, but it introduced me to the fact that things
are almost never black and white and that even decisions that seem to
be the most beneficial and moral can end up either having the most
detrimental consequences, or the greatest results.
